Green Tea, Honey & Oat Face Mask

Now I myself have suffered with acne from an early age and although it may not be the most severe of cases it has affected me personally nonetheless. Through my many years of dealing with it along side prescription medication I always use home made remedies. They may not be a quick fix cure but they can help a little and enable you to see some differences and improvements that make you feel even a little bit better by using everyday ingredients to make a healthy face mask full of beneficial properties for your skin.

Right so, the first mask I will be sharing with you is a Green tea & Oatmeal mask. Each ingredient has its individual benefits which I will explain.

Green tea leaves

Not only is it beneficial for drinking but also as a topical treatment. Green tea leaves contain anti-inflammatory components which soothe and reduce inflammation. Also as we are using leaves from a caffeinated tea bag the caffeine will stimulate the skin and help to repair any UV damage. (Green tea also works great as a toner)

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is hypoallergenic and helps the skin to retain moisture. Raw oatmeal works as a gentle and natural exfoliant for the skin and cooked oatmeal also reduces inflammation and redness.

Honey

Honey is naturally anti-bacterial and full of anti-oxidants, it opens up pores making them easier to unclog. It also moisturises and soothes skin to leave it glowing.

To make the mask combine;

  • 1 x green tea teabag
  • 1 x tablespoon of oatmeal
  • 1 x tablespoon of honey

Mix well together and apply by massaging on the skin and then leave it to sit for about 10-15 minutes, you can use this time to catch up on your social media or tidy your room lol. Once the mask dries you can rinse it off with warm water making use of the oats for exfoliation by going in circular motions with your fingers.

Be sure to let me know how the mask works for you
